Temps have moderated these last few days and the humidity is on the increase.. There was a deep Fog early Friday morning for much of the area as I was not socked in, but I did experience the thickness of the atmosphere for a couple of hours. The forecast is calling for a dense Fog at daybreak Saturday morning and I am out and about watching while the dewpoints match up with temps during the wee hours of darkness.. Current obs are 71° with DP sitting on 65%. Humidity is on the rise at 80%..
More to come as this pattern settles in..

Lacey and Shadow are still with me and are getting closer by the day. This morning I placed the food bowl between my feet as I sat on the doorstep and they are right there.. Trust is a long road to travel...  Wink Kiss

El NiÑo has settled in and the East Coast is feeling the effect.. Chilly temps and rainy periods are ocurring on a 3-4 day pattern this season..

The possibilty of snow in Florida this year grows, significantly, as these wet fronts push further south. If not for Christmas, perhaps after the 1st of the year, as snowfalls are being recorded in the deep south, quite early..

Lacey and Shadow are camping out on my doorstep as I arrive home from work each morning and I think I have the names a bit off/ I thought Lacey was a little lady a month ago and yesterday she/he raised tail,,, and what to my astounded eyes should appear?Huh? Cojones!!!! Darn,, I should have known by His head structure.. Shadow is smaller in stature and I think she is female.. I started feeding Momma Kitty a few days ago since she is still playing with the kittens.. I call her Saddleback since she is a Black and White with the black being like a saddle just below her neck to most of her tail. Then the top of her head is black and she has 2 spots of black on her nose and half her chin.. there is a 1 inch white end on her tail...

I am pleased to see that TWWII is rolling along smoothly...

That would be interesting.   Hopefully we can get away from negatively tilted troughs, which, like the last one, means cold and snow for southern plains and south central areas, but mostly rain in the SE due to SW flow aloft on the eastern edge of the arctic air.  But later on this month, if the trough axis shifts further east, the chances of cold arctic air and frozen precip should be on the increase.  At the moment we have various winter storm/blizzard warnings in effect out in Colorado and CA.  Lets see how the pattern evolves.

As I watch the mixed Surface Analysis, I see some deep threatenings coming from the North which are still many days away. The transition of movement seems to be migrating towards the East, and the deep South, while the clipper pushes its way into the mid sections of our country

Currently, the temps are almost record breaking here, and the last 2 nights have been enveloped in dense fog. I expect a moderately cool beginning to our winter season as the solstice approaches. I'll reserve my obs for the next few weeks as I view the patterns that develop..

Thanks for your comments, Ken..  Cool

Well it's here now - the cold.  Freeze warnings into central and south Florida will freeze the orange groves again.   Even Key West is cold tonight with lows in the low 50's - not a very romantic time for a boat ride on the keys.   Enjoy your hybernation and stay warm  Smiley

Another round of cold has invaded the Sunshine State.. Not much of that going on this season, (Sunshine).. Records are falling all over the State, as are across the country..

Overcast and raw this morning here on the west coast of the east coast of SE North America  Wink 9 miles east of the GOM and I have a temp of 47° with a wind chill of 40°.. If the skies were clear it would be much colder. I didn't see the brunt that Tallahassee saw with their snow event, thank goodness, but it is certainly cold enough with these aging bones..

I think that Ground Hog up North would taste pretty good cooked slowly over a spitt, rubbed in butter and peppercorn Garlic sauce...  Wink Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Well too bad you didn't get snow !  I had 4 inches here in Summerville,SC !    Better than nothing, although it wasn't cold enough for a real fluffy snow event.  It was all wet snow and I walked thru 4 inches of slush this morning.    But nice scenery on the trees.

Sad  The chilly temps continue as I receive the latest news which defines this past Winter as the coldest on record for Pinellas County, in duration averages.. Sunday brought another front and the incessant wind makes our 50's feel much colder.. I pray that this is the last for this year as I anticipate the 80 degree nights to come to my atmosphere, in the near future..

My trepidation is engulfed by what this coming Hurricane Season might have in store for Florida as August draws near..

I hope you liked the cooler than normal weather for your area this winter, Ron. Wink I get like 5 straight months of 30's, 40's and 50's every year. Shocked With your high dew points and 80's for months on end, it would take years for me to get used to that. It would be a inferno.
